FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing a crosslinkable propylene polymer composition. This method involves melt mixing and reaction of: a) heterophase composition A of a propylene copolymer; b) at least one cross-linkable grafted component B represented by formula (II) R1Si(OA)3; c) a radical initiator C, d) optionally a polyunsaturated component D, and subsequent addition of e) optionally an antioxidant E and f) optionally a condensation catalyst F. Cross-linkable grafted component B and the radical initiator C are continuously fed into the extruder in the form of a mixture of components B and C and are added to composition A based on a propylene copolymer.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of improved method of producing cross-linked polypropylene, in which a considerable degree of grafting and uniformity of grafting is achieved, and also allowing to avoid unacceptable degree of premature cross-linking, formation of gel and destruction (visbreaking) of material, which leads to unacceptable increase in melt flow index (MFI) of propylene polymer.
