FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an arc-quenching chamber of an electric circuit breaker comprising an arc forming chamber enclosing fixed contact (2) and movable contact (1), between which, when disconnected, an arc discharge is formed; wherein said arc forming chamber is connected to second arc extinguishing chamber inlet, comprising stack of separators (4) extending parallel to each other, movable contact (1) passes, in fact, at right angle to plane of dividers, in order to draw arc between contacts at their disconnection, initial direction of which is substantially parallel to said separators, on the side of the movable contact, said dividers have a cut which is intended to facilitate entry of the arc; circuit breaker comprises a magnetic release arranged on the side of the fixed and movable contacts, and a switching horn located on the opposite side, the shape of separators (4) gradually changes from one separator to the other one or from one group of identical separators to the other group or in a combination of these versions so that this shape varies from V with the largest surface area of the cut to V with the least surface area of the cut in the direction from the magnetic release to switching horn (5).
EFFECT: technical result is more uniform arc quenching.
