FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: optical multilayer band-pass filter relates to optical equipment of terahertz range and can be used in optical communication devices and measuring equipment. Filter contains alternating dielectric layers from materials with high and low refraction indices forming a mirror-symmetric structure. All dielectric layers with low refraction index are made from one material. Part of dielectric layers has half-wave thickness and is filter resonators, and other dielectric layers have quarter-wave thickness and form multilayered dielectric mirrors separating filter resonators from each other and from external space. All dielectric layers with high refractive indices are made from metamaterials, which are a dielectric matrix with metal nanoparticles, optimum magnitudes of refractive indices of which for each multilayer mirror and each resonator are ensured by optimal relative volume concentration of metal nanoparticles in dielectric matrix of metamaterial.
EFFECT: reduced number of layers in multilayered dielectric mirrors of strip-pass filter and expansion of its lower and upper barrier strip.
