FIELD: soil or rock drilling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a drill ship with a drilling shaft intended for exploratory offshore drilling at oil and gas deposits of the Arctic using a water separating column (riser). Vessel is equipped with protection devices of the riser against damages from ice load and prevent ingress of ice floes passing under the vessel bottom into the drilling shaft. Drilling shaft of this vessel is made of increased length, in forward part of which sliding protector unit is installed in the form of direct prism and has wedge shape in horizontal section. Protective unit is extended along vertical guides by means of hydraulic cylinders. In raised position, protective unit is installed flush with vessel bottom lining.
EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of drilling vessel.
