FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering. Disclosed is a method of reloading spent rods laid in cells of off-grade covers for SFA and placed in storage facilities of coastal technological bases (CTB), in standard sleeves for SFA. Protective container with off-standard cover is installed in the loading station, in each cell of which there is not more than three rods, and the second protective container with empty standard jacket. Pedestals are installed on both containers and plugs are opened on both jackets. Hydraulic clamping device (HCD) and coordinate-clamping device (CCD) are installed on pedestal of first container. HCD working chamber is brought into the cell of the off-grade jacket through the loading opening. Working chamber is filled with an alcohol-glycerine mixture to pressure of not more than 1 MPa. Grip with rod is lifted from cell jacket above CCD by 40÷50 mm. Gripper is disengaged from the rod. Channel container is installed on the coordinate-aiming device (CAD). Rod is loaded into a free cell of the case.

EFFECT: invention allows reducing surface contamination with radioactive substances and emission of radionuclides at overload of defective CPS rods.
