FIELD: nuclear power technology.
SUBSTANCE: maintenance, handling, fragmentation, and long-term storage of control rods in spent fuel assemblies storage facilities. A method for handling spent control rods of shipboard nuclear power plants using a complex for handling spent control rods contains a reloading stand, a protective single-channel container, consisting of a body, a base, a cover, a gate, a manual winch, a cable with a gripper and a traction pulley, a centering funnel and a mechanism segments. The complex for handling sleeves with control rods includes a reloading stand, equipped with a guiding device for spent fuel assemblies, located at the bottom of the loading space of the reloading stand and consisting of an internal plate, a base, a rotary plate, two worm gears with a drive, and a lock. The complex is equipped with a fragmentation device with a removable cover, mounted on the upper surface of the transfer stand and centered along the internal cylindrical surfaces relative to the protective transport container with biological protection.
EFFECT: reducing the absorbed dose of gamma radiation to service personnel.
