FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing sorbent for galvanic, textile, leather and other waste water treatment. Disclosed is a method of producing a sorbent for extracting bichromate anions from an aqueous solution. Method comprises mixing bentonite suspension in 20 % sodium metasilicate taken based on weight ratio of SiO2, present in sodium metasilicate solution, to bentonite equal to 0.8:1. Modified bentonite is washed with water, treated with 10 % solution of sulfuric acid and subjected to thermal treatment at 200 °C.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a sorbent with high sorption capacity and good filterability.
