FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing N-morpholinoethyl methacrylate. A novel method of producing N-morpholinoethyl methacrylate by re-etherification of methyl methacrylate with N-(2-hydroxyethyl)morpholine at temperature of 35–50 °C with simultaneous distillation of methanol in the form of an azeotrope with excess methyl methacrylate and further extraction of the end product, synthesis is carried out in a stream of nitrogen for 3.0–3.5 hours in the presence of a sodium methylate catalyst, polymerisation inhibitor and molar ratio of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)morpholine, methyl methacrylate and sodium methoxide equal to 1:(4.0–5.0):(0.04–0.08), with total moisture content in the reaction mixture is less than 0.15 wt %.
EFFECT: method simplifies production and increases output of N-morpholinoethyl methacrylate.
