FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna engineering, in particular to horn radiators, which are part of antennae of spacecraft, as well as to methods of making horn emitters from fibrous composite materials. Horn radiator is structurally made as a whole from one composite material, at that conical flared end, pipe and coupling flange may be made in form of ellipse, circle or polyhedron. Horn radiator is made in one process cycle, at which cutting of workpieces from prepreg is performed according to a given program on cutting machine, performing workpieces laying with prepreg layers on mandrel surface by preset orientation angles, layers are alternated relative to each other, with intermediate vacuum pressing of each layer of prepreg, at that, profiled crimping element is used. Mandrel for making horn radiator can be dismountable and made of composite material, and crimping element made from elastic material.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of horn manufacturing labour intensity, as well as in reduction of its weight.
