FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: use for pipeline circular seam control. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the position of the investigated weld is localized on the terrain and recording results of localization on the carrier fixing the results of the weld control, wherein initially fixing satellite navigation system signals receiver on equipment, which controls weld, bypassing pipeline along pipe generatrix, receive signals from satellite navigation system during the whole monitoring period, then, initially, average the pairwise coordinate values obtained when the satellite navigation system signals receiver is located at the pipe generatrices diametrically opposite to each other, and then averaging all obtained average values of coordinates among themselves and then recording results of localization, and finding equipment on the generatrix of the pipe is determined using signals from the sensor of inclination angle to horizon.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining position of a circular seam in space and easy maintenance of control equipment.
