FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling access to a wireless network using a portable electronic device (PED), particularly a wireless network on an aircraft. To each authorized portable electronic device (PED) is attached label of proximity non-contact communication (NFC). Each NFC tag is programmed to include an identification code for the corresponding portable electronic device. Proximity non-contact communication device (NFC) has an antenna which receives an information signal when the NFC tag on the portable electronic device (PED) is in close proximity to the antenna. Readout device of near-contactless communication (NFC) also has a terminal for outputting information contained in information signal. Authorization module is connected to the output of the proximity non-contact communication device (NFC) and to the router, through which access to the wireless network is controlled. Authorization module receives information from proximity non-contact communication (NFC) reading device, and, if said information contains an identification code for a portable electronic device (PED), configures the router to issue to the portable electronic device (PED) having said identification code permission to access the wireless network.

EFFECT: reducing system costs when creating and maintaining a list of approved airline devices and when creating and updating a list of revoked certificates.
