SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system, a method and a mobile device for performing payment transactions. The method comprises performing a payment transaction at a real location using a payment device and a point of sale terminal, which includes transmitting information from the payment device to the point of sale terminal, as a result of which a transaction record is formed in the point of sale terminal containing transaction identification information, wherein the payment device comprises a contactless component and is located in a mobile device; generating at the real location additional information relating to the payment transaction using a mobile telephone function and independent of the point of sale terminal, wherein said additional information is additional with respect to the transaction record, includes visual information relating to at least one aspect of the real location, obtained at least using a mobile device, and has at least one transaction circumstance characteristic; and transmitting from the mobile telephone the transaction identification information and the additional information relating to the payment transaction to an entity which facilitates processing of the payment transaction data via a wireless telephony network.
