FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in oil and gas industry to measure volume of accumulated liquid in extended pipelines of ground laying on supports that transport gas-liquid flows. Method envisages installation of functionally interconnected sensors configured to measure and transfer mass values in all contact points of external surface of pipeline with supports. Based on the measurement results, the pipeline weight (W) with the gas-liquid mixture contained therein, own weight (Wpl) of the pipeline and volume (Vl) of liquid in pipeline from ratio Vl= (W-Wpl-Wg)/(ρl-ρg), where ρl – value of liquid density in pipeline, ρg is value of gas density in pipeline, Wg is the gas mass in the pipeline, wherein Wg=ρgL((π(d-2∙h)2)/4), where d is outer diameter of pipeline (m), h is wall thickness of pipeline (m), L is pipeline length (m).
EFFECT: high efficiency of controlling the volume of liquid accumulated in a pipeline owing to high reliability of operation and accuracy of readings of sensors, enabling determination of liquid accumulation points, as well as wider range of equipment.
