FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining the physical properties of two-phase flows, and in particular to methods for determining the true volumetric gas content of an oil-air emulsion flow in a pipeline, in particular in lubrication systems of gas-turbine engines. Method consists in fact, that a measuring horizontal cylindrical section is allocated in the pipeline, characterized by a diameter, a length, a coefficient of friction loss and a total coefficient of local pressure loss, measure the volume flow, temperature and pressure of the oil-air emulsion at the input to the measuring section, the pressure drop in the flow of the oil-air emulsion between the input and output of the measuring section and determine the true volumetric gas content from the measured parameters.
EFFECT: reduction of time spent on determining the true volumetric gas content in a two-phase oil-air emulsion flow through its direct calculation in real time.
