FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to removal of paints, in particular to chemical methods of removing paint and ground coatings. Described is a composition for dissolving paint and varnish and ground coatings, containing methylene chloride, formic acid, paraffin, PEG (polyethylene glycol 4000), PEG (polyethylene glycol 300) and a nonionic surfactant in form of a mixture of polyalkylene glycol isoalkyl ethers with number of repeating units [CH2-CH2-O] from 5 to 25, such as polyethylene glycol isopropyl ether, polyethylene glycol isobutyl ether, polyethylene glycol isopentyl ether, or in the form of tri-decyl ether of polyoxyethylene (tridecyl ether of polyethylene glycol) with the number of repeating units [CH2-CH2-O] – 18, which is characterized by the following ratio of components, wt%: methylene chloride 65.0–80.0; formic acid 8.0–20.0; paraffin 2.0–8.0; PEG 4000 2.0–10.0; PEG 300 2.0–8.0; nonionic surfactant 0.5–3.0.
EFFECT: high rate of dissolving paint and varnish and ground coatings at low consumption when used for processing a solid surface.
