FIELD: fire extinguishing means.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water-based fire extinguishing means intended for fire extinguishing of "B" class (combustion of liquid and highly flammable substances). Fire-extinguishing suspension is a water-based colloidal solution in which nanoparticles – multilayered carbon nanotubes (MCNT) have diameter of 30–150 nm. Volume content of MCNT in the fire extinguishing suspension is 0.5–1.0 vol%. Suspension is obtained by MCNT dispersion in industrial water at impact of ultrasound source with power 1.2 kW, frequency 50–60 kHz.
EFFECT: disclosed invention allows to significantly reduce the amount of fire extinguishing composition supplied to the fire center due to intensification of heat exchange during evaporation of drops of suspensions in the zone of combustion of liquid hydrocarbon vapors and enables use in modular installations and primary fire extinguishing means.
