SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of producing a coordinatively unsaturated metal-organic framework and to a coordinatively unsaturated metal-organic framework. Method of producing a coordinatively unsaturated metal-organic framework includes steps of producing a precursor of a metal-organic framework, comprising a metal cluster and a polycarboxylic acid ion and a monocarboxylic acid ion, coordinated with the metal cluster, and enabling a precursor of a metal-organic framework and a metal salt having a Lewis acidity to coexist in a solvent for desorption of at least a portion of monocarboxylic acid ions which are coordinated with the metal cluster from the metal cluster. Besides, there is a coordinatively unsaturated metal-organic frame containing a metal cluster of type M₆O_8-x(OH)_x and carboxylic acid ions containing a polycarboxylic acid ion as a polydentate ligand and a monocarboxylic acid ion C_1-3 as a monodentate ligand, coordinated with metal cluster.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a metal-organic framework having high hygroscopicity under low moisture conditions and a method of making such a metal-organic framework.
