FIELD: metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a metal-organic framework based on zirconium of the formula UiO-66, formed by Zr6O4(OH)4 clusters connected by benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate (terephthalate, bdc) linkers. The method involves mixing zirconium oxychloride of the formula ZrOCl2×8H2O and a source of organic frame linker - terephthalate, in the presence of an organic solvent, followed by heating the resulting reaction mixture under the influence of microwave radiation with a power of up to 200 W and a frequency of 2.465 GHz at atmospheric pressure and elevated temperature. Recycled polyethylene terephthalate is used as a source of terephthalate, and triethylene glycol is used as an organic solvent.
EFFECT: creating a safe, environmentally friendly and cost-effective one-step method for producing a metal-organic framework of the formula UiO-66.
