FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of solar battery (SB) of spacecraft (SC). SB mechanical device comprises panels and frame, which are hinged to each other in opened position. Frame is pivotally connected to process appliance (PA) simulating mounting surfaces and attachment points of mechanical device on spacecraft body. Frame and panels (the first time) are moved into folded position and fixed relative to each other and PA by means of mechanisms of support assemblies, kept from actuation by means of ropes and pyrotechnics. Arrangement of all these units and elements according to their location on spacecraft. Then, the SB mechanical device can be tested on the PA to confirm serviceability, on the place of the final installation on the spacecraft.
EFFECT: exclusion of dependence of SB mechanical device manufacturing process on SC readiness degree and availability due to PA.
