FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrument-making and concerns a liquid crystal display illuminator for a collimating aviation indicator. Illuminator comprises several laser semiconductor emitters emitting in the green spectral region, collimating lenses, optical wedges directing radiation to the homogeniser and a condenser. Homogenizer consists of two sets of cylindrical lenses located mutually perpendicular to each other, and is in focal point of condenser.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of maximum brightness of the displayed image and providing possibility of its comfortable perception in the whole range of brightness of the surrounding space.
