FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of hydrometallurgical processing of complex rare-metal material of complex composition. Niobium is extracted from niobium-containing cakes from leaching of complex rare metal raw material. Cake is mixed with a mixture of aqueous solutions of hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid in concentrations of 80–90 g/l and 800–980 g/l respectively and 50 % by volume solution of tributyl phosphate in octane with weight ratio of solid phase and liquid phase equal to 1:(3–9), and volumetric ratio of liquid aqueous phase and liquid organic phase equal to (2–3):(1–2), to obtain pulp. Pulp is intensively mixed at 20–25 ºC and phase contact time of 5–10 minutes. Pulp is decanted for 15–25 minutes, then the liquid organic phase is separated from the liquid aqueous phase and the solid phase by filtration.
EFFECT: method provides high degree of niobium extraction from complex rare-metal raw material into organic phase and its concentration at low temperature, time and flow parameters of the process.
