METHOD OF TREATING CATTLE THELAZIOSIS IN FIELD CONDITIONS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61D7/00 

FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science, particularly to a method of treating cattle thelaziosis in field conditions. Method is characterized by disinfecting the lower eyelid with 5 % alcohol tincture of iodine, after which on the boundary of the ventral edge of the eye and soft eye tissues in the lower eyelid is introduced a needle, directing it to an opposite angle of the lower jaw, describing a semicircle behind the eyeball, then it is brought to the papilla of the optic nerve so that the end of the needle is in the retrobulbar area. Depth of needle introduction for calves makes 5–7 cm, for cows - 8–10 cm, and for bulls - 10–12 cm. After that, control is performed for absence of damage to gall bladder and eye movement by lifting upper eyelid. Syringe is attached to needle and 0.5 % solution of novocaine to calves 6–12 ml, cows 20 ml, bulls 40 ml is introduced into the retrobulbar area. Procedure is performed once for each involved eye. That is combined with an additional block of the ophthalmic nerve according to F. P. Kapustin.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables effective treatment of cattle thelaziosis in field conditions.
