FIELD: printing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a printing method and a printing apparatus, in which a printed document is separated from a continuous paper tape by a cutting device having a movable knife, which can occupy the initial position, in which the knife is retracted to release the passage for inserting the tape into the cutting area, and at least one cutting position, in which knife moves forward and occupies said passage, with sensor device, which can indicate, when knife is in two above positions. Said sensor device comprises a sensor means of presence or proximity, which is configured to interact with rotary shaped part of said cutting device.
EFFECT: printing apparatus and method of printing are proposed.
