SUBSTANCE: embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of terminal technologies and provide a method and a device for displaying a possible word and a graphical user interface. Method is applied to a scenario in which a user enters information using an input method. Method includes: determining an application type which calls an input method; determining, according to type, information of context area corresponding to type; determining, according to contextual domain information, a dictionary corresponding to context area information; and displaying, in the area of the possible default option for the input method, of at least one possible word which is in the dictionary and satisfies a predetermined condition.
