SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system, a method and a machine-readable medium for processing and disputing transactions. In the method, by means of the DA computer, a dispute message identifying the impugned transaction is received from the issuer portal on the first communication line, wherein the dispute message includes transaction data associated with the impugned transaction, and dispute data, analyzing transaction data and dispute data, based on said analysis and without additional input from emitent portal, determining whether the impugned transaction is qualified as pre-return payment dispute or as a return payment dispute, and if it is determined that the impugned transaction is qualified as a pre-return payment dispute, the dispute message is routed as a pre-return payment dispute message to the seller's portal through the second communication line, or if it is determined that the impugned transaction is qualified as a return payment dispute, then the message is routed dispute to payment network.

EFFECT: technical result consists in automation of transaction processing.
