FIELD: test technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of tribology and mechanics of a deformed solid body, namely to methods for testing and analyzing physical and mechanical properties of materials, mainly friction materials. Specimen is impacted on the surface of the counter-sample with a given tangential rate of their relative displacement, which is ensured by the angular velocity of rotation of the sample; parameters of their collision are measured, from which the frictional properties of the materials are determined. Tangential rate of their relative displacement is supplemented with preset speed of translational movement of sample, wherein ratio of said speeds is selected based on the condition of obtaining required parameters of driving or braking modes of friction interaction of sample and counter-sample at preset rolling speed or their free rolling. Device comprises a specimen holder, a mechanism for rotating the sample around the horizontal axis, setting the required angular velocity, a mechanism for dropping the sample from the required height to the counter sample, and a system for measuring the parameters of the sample collision. Specimen holder is made in the form of a swinging lever. System for measuring the parameters of the collision of the sample is equipped with a means of detecting the angular velocity of the sample during its collision and a means of measuring the vertical component of the rate of incidence and recoil. Device is equipped with a facility for creation of the required translational speed of sample movement.
EFFECT: possibility of covering the entire range of parameters of interaction of wheels with coatings, which occur in practice of aircraft and automotive equipment.
