FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric measuring equipment and can be used for evaluation of actual position and state of underground utilities. To increase accuracy of identification of damage points in insulating coating of pipeline there proposed is contact method of measurement of potential gradients along pipeline between two metal contact electrodes moved with constant pitch supplemented by simultaneous non-contact induction measurement of signal levels and after limiting their amplitude using as reference for key synchronous detection of signals from contact electrodes, wherein the non-contact induction measurement of signals enables simultaneous phase identification of insulating coating defects of pipelines using phase parameters of signals from induction antennae. Thus, the addition of a contact method for measuring signals by contactless methods enables synchronous detection of compared signals and simultaneously includes amplitude identification of phase, which as a whole makes it possible to identify the most insignificant defects in the insulating coating of pipelines.
EFFECT: method is proposed for diagnostics of defects of insulating coating of pipelines.
