SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forest industry and can be used in forestry during carrying out thinning in young growths. Device for grinding wood during cutting of care in young animals and cutting urban green plantations comprises housing in the form of an open cylindrical housing, cutting tool having a scroll-like shape with a cutting edge mounted on a rotating shaft. Cutting element is installed on the shaft at an angle inclined to its axis. In the upper part of the body perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the cutting member there is a cylindrical roller freely rotating on the axis. In the upper and lower parts of the body at a tangent to the circumference circumscribed by the coil of the largest diameter of the cutting tool, free-running taper rollers are cantileverly mounted on the axles with tops to outside.
