FIELD: forestry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the forestry, in particular to selective felling and thinning of forestry on artificially renewed areas with plantings providing for the alternation of narrow strips with row placement of forest crops in each of them and the row spacing between them with a width that allows movement and work logging machines, including cutting down a tree, moving it to the place of delimbing and crosscutting. After cutting, the tree in a vertical position is carried out of the plantation by the machine manipulator in a direction perpendicular to the row axis, into the space between rows, by turning the rotator to the left or right. The top of the tree is lowered to the surface of the row-spacing, then branching and crosscutting of the tree-lengths are carried out. The resulting assortments are stacked in heaps for their subsequent collection, loading and skidding to the loading station by a forwarder.
EFFECT: minimization of damage caused to trees left for growing after felling is ensured.
