SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acetals of 1-(3,3-dimethylcyclohex-1-enyl)ethanone of formula I, having animals or amber notes without any woody aspect, a method for production thereof, a perfume composition based on them, as well as their use in perfumery. In general formula I m and n denote the number of carbon atoms and all independently are 0 or 1; R₁ denotes a hydrogen atom or saturated C₁-C₂-alkyl group; carbon-carbon bond represented by a dashed line is present or absent, and if said bond is absent, then R₂ is present and denotes a hydrogen atom or saturated C₁-C₂-alkyl group, if said bond is present, then R₂ is absent.

EFFECT: disclosed are novel acetals of 1-(3,3-dimethylcyclohex-1-enyl)ethanone, a method for production thereof and their use in perfumery.
