FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, particularly, to production of proppants used in hydraulic fracturing. In order to implement the method of producing proppant granules, wire from metal alloy with shape memory effect is selected as initial material. A helical spiral spring is wound from the wire, diametrical sizes of which are selected proceeding from the sizes of the hydraulic fracture. Winding pitch of turns is taken from condition of forming filtering layer. Proppant granules are formed by mechanical compression of helical spiral spring and formation of sphere.
EFFECT: achieving technical result is possibility of retaining fine fractions of proppant in fractures of hydraulic fracturing, due to restoration of initial shape of spring in cracks under effect of formation conditions.
