FIELD: means for estimating background noise.

SUBSTANCE: reducing current estimated value of background noise in response to determination that segment of audio signal contains music, and determining that current estimated value of background noise exceeds minimum value, when power level of audio signal segment is less than threshold exceeding long-term minimum energy level (lt_min), which is determined by multiple previous segments of audio signal, and there is no pause in segment of audio signal. Background noise evaluation unit is also configured to reduce the current estimated background noise value in response to the determination that the audio signal segment contains music, and determining that the current estimated value of the background noise exceeds the minimum value when the power level of the audio signal segment is less than the threshold.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of detection in audio signal of speech or music.
