FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to artillery ammunition, and in particular to armor-piercing projectiles for smooth-bore or rifled artillery systems of medium or large gages of unitary, separate-sleeve or cap-loading. Armor-piercing sub-caliber missile comprises main body with hollow tail part. Inside this part there is a cumulative projectile with a bottom fuse. Bottom detonating fuse is explosive cartridge. Its detonation temperature is lower than the detonation temperature of the explosive substance of the cumulative charge. It is tightly pressed through gasket to end face of explosive of cumulative projectile by steel plug. Between the casing of the shaped projectile and main shell body there is a layer of substance with low heat conductivity. Gasket is absent between explosive substance and plug.
EFFECT: technical result is increase of armor-piercing action of subcaliber projectile.
