FIELD: multipurpose ammunition intended for hitting of targets of various kinds. SUBSTANCE: the shell is made up of two blocks: the head and bottom ones joined in the plane perpendicular to the shell axis by means of a detachable joint; the bottom block uses a casing, explosive charge, exploder and has a fixed configuration; and the head block, also using a casing, explosive charge, exploder, insert elements, is replaceable and has different configurations and application. The exploders of the head and bottom blocks are electrically coupled. The head and bottom blocks are kept in separate packing cases. After determination of target and selection of the necessary type of the head block (high-explosive fragmentation, fragmentation-cluster, shaped-charge, etc. ) both blocks are fed to an assembly manipulator, which joins the blocks into a shell and feeds it to the gun loading system.
