FIELD: hygiene.
SUBSTANCE: yarn for an oral care appliance comprises an elongated rod terminating with a tip and having an end portion for installation with a constant cross section and an end portion; wherein the end portion is mechanically sharpened by means of at least one of grinding, skiving or cutting the elongate shaft, wherein the mechanically sharpened end portion has a narrowing length of 5 mm or more; wherein mechanically sharpened end part has value of local surface roughness of at least 0.20; and wherein the thread has a tip diameter measured at distance of 0.05 mm from the tip in the sharpened end portion, less than 10 mcm. Also disclosed is a needle sharpened with a mechanical method for an oral care appliance (embodiments) and an oral care appliance.
EFFECT: technical result is the above described characteristics of thread sharpness and roughness according to present invention improve efficiency of cleaning between teeth.
