FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mineral processing by electrochemical chlorination, in particular to electrolysis unit for electrochemical chlorination during processing of copper-zinc ores and tailings of their processing. Electrolysis cell comprises a housing divided by a partition with an overflow threshold into electrochlorination and sorption chambers with anode and a cathode installed in the electrochlorination chamber, three diaphragms installed in the interelectrode space of the electrochlorination chamber and dividing the interelectrode space into four compartments, ends at the bottom with pyramidal parts with outlet nozzles, branch pipe for supply of working solution connected to pyramidal part of anode compartment, installed in sorption chamber partition open from below and overflow branch pipe for removal of spent solution, installed on housing cover with nozzles for removal of anode and cathode gases.
EFFECT: higher selectivity of separation of iron, copper, zinc and gold due to alternating deposition of iron, copper and zinc ions into separate products in cathode space, and removing directly from anode compartment by moving flows of working solution of complex gold ions to sorption.
