ELECTRIFIED VEHICLE AND METHOD OF COOLING BATTERY THEREIN (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC B60L50/60 B60L58/26 H01M10/613 H01M10/625 H01M10/635 H01M10/637 H01M10/6556 H01M10/6563

Abstract RU 2721432 C2

FIELD: vehicles; cooling.

SUBSTANCE: electric drive drives the vehicle. Battery unit provides electric power to electric drive and includes cooling pipeline for liquid heat carrier. Battery sensors detect temperature of battery and heat carrier. Passive radiator takes ambient air temperature. Fluid pump pumps heat carrier through cooling pipeline. Common cooling subsystem includes a compressor and a condenser circulating the coolant. Main evaporator is connected to common cooling subsystem and evaporates coolant for passenger compartment cooling. Cooler is connected to the common cooling subsystem and evaporates the coolant for cooling of passenger compartment. Distributor valve in first configuration connects radiator with pump and cooling pipeline, and in second configuration connects cooler with pump and cooling pipeline. Controller issues commands to the valve to select one of these configurations. At that, when the battery temperature has value between the first threshold temperature and the specified power limitation temperature, the command for selection of the first configuration is provided, that the difference between the temperature of the heat carrier of the battery and the temperature of the outside air is greater than the predetermined difference, otherwise, as well as when battery temperature is higher than power limitation temperature, second selection command is sent.

EFFECT: optimization of operation of the battery cooling system together with the conditioning system.
