SUBSTANCE: method of measuring relative accommodation by tension and relaxation of accommodation in a constant state of vergence, wherein a patient is shown, at a minimum viewing angle, an image of two crossing rows with pairs of differently spaced pairs of identical figures with optotypes. Constant state of the vergence is controlled by the presence of a sensation in the patient of the binocular image in the form of three vertical rows. After that, relative accommodation "+" and "-" is measured. Observation is carried out by depicting a series of figures lined up in a line. Besides, inside the figures there are optotypes of different types located in the center, and the rows are arranged with the possibility of changing the angle between them. Measurement of the positive part of the relative accommodation is carried out in the zone of pre-plane fusion by adding to the optical correction to the distance of the reducing lens -2.5…-5.0, patient is asked to indicate the nearest figure with an optotype which is clearly perceived and without double vision, subtract 3.0D and the force of the reducing lens for mathematical re-calculation of the positive part of the relative accommodation with the reducing lens from the absolute accommodation parameter. To measure the negative part of the relative accommodation, a reducing lens +2.0D is used, the patient is asked to indicate the furthest figure with an optotype perceived clearly and without doubling, for mathematical recalculation of the negative part of the relative accommodation, the value of the absolute accommodation value is subtracted from 3.0D.

EFFECT: application of the invention will make it possible to increase accuracy of measurement of relative accommodation and to provide reliability of perception of stereographic impression.
