FIELD: liquid atomisation or spraying devices.
SUBSTANCE: evaporator with falling films comprises a housing and a plurality of evaporator tubes arranged in the housing. Liquid coolant distribution system is located in housing and comprises header, having multiple collector outlets located below horizontal relative to collector cross-section center, and a partition wall located between the plurality of collector outlets and the distribution tank and having a plurality of baffle openings. Partition wall comprises first part and second part, each of which extends from shell towards distribution reservoir and which are located on opposite sides of manifold so that distance between first part and second part of partition increases as distance from distributing tank increases. Distributing tank has multiple holes of distributing reservoir supplying liquid coolant to multiple tubes of evaporator during operation. Method of operation of evaporator includes supply of two-phase mixture of vapor and liquid coolant into collector and the mixture is sprayed from the manifold through a plurality of collector holes towards the distribution tank. Mixture collides with a partition wall located between the collector and the distribution tank, and the liquid coolant is separated from the mixture due to collision. Liquid coolant is accumulated in distribution tank.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of risk of non-uniform distribution and/or drying of evaporator tubes.
