FIELD: manufacturing technology; drilling of wells.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of drill bit. Metal billet is placed in a casting block containing a mold having an internal surface made with a reverse relief relative to surface elements of the drilling bit. Powder containing at least one of ceramics powder and cermet powder is loaded into the annular gap formed between the workpiece and the mold. Binder alloy is arranged on billet and mold to weigh 40–70 % of sum of powder weight and binder alloy weight. In order to protect against oxidation, flux is applied on binder alloy in amount of 0.1–10 % of powder weight. Casting unit is introduced into furnace with uncontrolled atmosphere for heating of protected bonding alloy to impregnation temperature between its solidus and liquidus temperatures, with impregnation of powder with a bonding alloy and formation of a body of a bit, after which the body of the bit is removed from the furnace and cutting elements are attached to the blades of the housing.

EFFECT: reduction of intermetallic joints along boundary of bit cohesion.
