FIELD: drilling equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a drill bit having a shaped front cutter and an impregnated auxiliary cutter. Bit comprises a shank, a body and a cutting surface. Shank has a connecting device made at its upper end. Body is mounted on the lower end of the shank. Cutting surface is formed by the lower end of the bit and comprises a blade protruding from the body, a front cutter and an auxiliary cutter. Front cutter comprises a support part fixed in a socket made in the front edge of the blade, and cutting plate made of superhard material, fixed on support part and having non-planar working surface. Auxiliary cutter is fixed in the lower surface of the blade in a position behind the front cutter and is made of composite material containing matrix of ceramics or cermet, impregnated with superhard material. At that, the auxiliary cutter is rigidly mounted on the blade by means of an adhesive connection and the working surface has a protruding comb extending from the side of the cutting plate to the center of the working surface.
EFFECT: increasing mechanical speed and speed of drilling bit penetration.
