FIELD: wireless communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Method of controlling delay of passage of data packets, which is implemented by a wireless communication device, connected to an access unit in a wireless communication network, for controlling the end-to-end delay of through passage of a packet through a packet stream, established between a wireless communication device and another device, comprises steps of: measuring (200) the through packet end-to-end propagation delay between the wireless communication device and the other device; and, in response to determination (202), transmitting, that the through packet end-to-end propagation delay does not correspond to the target packet end-to-end propagation delay for the packet stream, indicating an adjustment to an access node for adjusting the delay of a wireless communication packet between a wireless communication device and an access node through which a packet stream is delivered, wherein, if the adjustment indication is the same as the last adjustment indication, the adjustment indication is not transmitted.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of power consumption and improved coverage of wireless communication device.
