FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of pressure pulses using explosive substances initiated by pulsed light radiation for testing structures for pulse loads. Method involves simultaneous initiation of a layer of a light-sensitive explosive composition deposited directly on the surface of a test object (TO) using one or more light sources placed at a given distance from the TO. Light sources are placed along the surface of the TO, a layer of a light-sensitive explosive composition is applied on the optical element, which includes light-sensitive complex metal perchlorate and an optically transparent polymer, metal powder with the following ratio of components, wt. %: photosensitive complex metal perchlorate 60–99.45; optically transparent polymer 0.5–20; metal powder 0.05–20. Initiation can be performed by means of a light source placed into focus of a parabolic reflector, or by means of a laser beam passing through a scattering lens.

EFFECT: technical result is simultaneous loading of various sections of surface of large-sized object with specified pulse load, providing smoothness of detonation front, low explosion hazard during tests.
