FIELD: explosives.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related specifically to optical means of initiation for use in the mining and coal mining industries, seismic exploration, oil production during well perforation, construction and special equipment for undermining single and spaced charges with multipoint initiation. The optical initiation device includes a metal case with a fibre optic cable placed in series in it, which, with its end, directly contacts with a photosensitive charge of an initiating explosive or pyrotechnic composition. At the opposite end of the charge there is a thin metal driver plate and a high explosive charge installed with a clearance from the driver plate. At the end of the fibre optic cable in contact with the photosensitive charge of the initiating explosive or pyrotechnic composition, there is a 2D array of mesoscale dielectric devices that form photonic jets.
EFFECT: increase of reliability of the initiation system by increasing the intensity of optical radiation on the charge of a photosensitive initiating explosive based on the effect of a photonic jet.
