FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatus for producing high-strength granules of dry ice from carbon-dioxide snow. Apparatus comprises a main sealing device for compacting carbon-dioxide snow to form granules of dry ice, and a pre-seal device, intended for preliminary compaction of carbon-dioxide snow produced by expansion of liquid carbon dioxide. Preliminary packing device is made in the form of preliminary mechanical seal jet-mechanical device and comprises expansion assembly for formation of carbon-dioxide snow from liquid or gaseous carbon dioxide and pre-compaction chamber for receiving and preliminary compaction of formed carbon-dioxide snow. Expansion unit and preliminary sealing chamber communicate with each other. Preliminary packing chamber is made in the form of curvilinear pipe.
EFFECT: as a result, the density of manufactured dry ice granules increases.
