SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of production, transportation and storage of agricultural products, as well as to agricultural products with low levels of microorganisms and residual organic compounds. Methods include inhibiting the reaction of ethylene in an agricultural product, combating pathogen contamination on a plant or plant product, prevention of growth of mold on fruit or vegetable, protection of fruit or vegetable against virus, bacteria or fungus, as well as preparation of air-dried fruit or vegetable by supplying gaseous diluted hydrogen peroxide with final concentration of 0.05 to 10.0 parts per million (ppm) into a closed medium containing an agricultural product.

EFFECT: technical result is prevention of premature ripening or over-ripening of agricultural products, preventing loss of foliage and prolongation of life of ornamental plants, elimination or prevention of agricultural products pathogens contamination, including destruction of fungi, molds, bacteria and viruses.
