FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment. Method consists in using the horizontal projection MF of the Earth as the main reference of MF. Ferroprobe disposed in a horizontal plane, this plane is rotated to obtain the maximum Emax1 voltage amplitude of the second harmonic Em in the ferroprobe EMF. Ferroprobe is rotated in horizontal plane by 180° to obtain second maximum value Emax2. Measurements are carried out with a selective voltmeter. Offsets of the ferroprobe are calculated by formula Eml=0.5(Emax1-Emax2). Constant test current of compensation of external MF ik0 is supplied to winding of ferroprobe. Note here that current magnitude and direction are changed to make Em|ik0=0. Steepness of conversion of the ferroprobe is calculated using the formula S=|Emax2/ik0|.

EFFECT: high information value of determining control parameters of the conversion characteristic of the MF by the ferroprobe.
