FIELD: drilling and blasting operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling and blasting operations in strong rocks and can be used in various industries that use blasting operations in rock massifs. Method for determining dimensions of a pre-destruction zone in a rock mass includes conducting explosions on experimental blocks based on standard structures of charges and blasting schemes with determination of strength characteristics of rocks by energy intensity of drilling of rocks and calculation of energy intensity of explosive destruction of these rocks based on them. In case of next adjacent explosive unit drilling adjacent to the previous one, value of intensity of pre-destruction of rock in the area of the drilled well, which is achieved as a result of explosive action of all well charges of the previous unit, is determined from the value of power consumption of drilling, by comparing current value of power consumption of drilling of rocks of this type with its value in rocks of previous block in conditions of their natural occurrence. Achieving identical values means the boundary of the pre-destruction zone.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to determine actual size of pre-destruction zone arising due to reduction of strength properties of rocks at multiple explosion impact of explosion of charges of previous process units.
