FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses an alternative automobile fuel with octane number of not less than 100.0 units, determined by motor method, consisting of ethyl alcohol and ether part, characterized by that as an ether part contains a simple cyclic ether – propylene oxide, at following ratio of components, vol%: ether part 5–10; ethyl alcohol up to 100. There is also disclosed method of producing alternative automotive fuel.
EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining alternative automotive fuel which has an octane number at least 100 units determined by the motor method, low content of washed and unwashed resins (no more than 5 mg/100 cm3), and sulfur (not more than 10 mg/kg), and also meets main requirements for characteristics of fuels for FFV-cars by ASTM D5798, EN 15293 and GOST R 54290.
