SUBSTANCE: invention relates to packaging material (1) for packaging light-sensitive goods, having property of impermeability for gases and not containing foil, wherein the packaging material comprises an outer plastic layer (7), cardboard-based layer (8), binding layer (9), as well as gas-preventing layer (10), at least one opening (4), penetrating through layer (8) based on cardboard and coated with binder layer (9) and layer (10), preventing gas passage, and protection from light, wherein protection from light comprises paint layer (5), substantially opaque to light, and provided on said binder layer (9) or on said outer plastic layer (7) of multilayer material to at least partially cover hole (4). Present invention also relates to a method of providing protection from light covering opening (4) in packaging material (1), as well as to package (13) for packaging light-sensitive goods.
